Frequently asked questions

Questions, answered.

Everything people usually ask before switching off a spreadsheet.

What is trackme?

trackme is a hosted IT asset and software license management tool that replaces the spreadsheet most small IT teams use to track laptops, phones, monitors, and software seats. It covers hardware checkout, license and seat management, and equipment loans in one dashboard.

How is trackme different from a spreadsheet?

A spreadsheet doesn't alert you before a license renews, doesn't print scannable tags, and breaks down once more than one person edits it. trackme gives every asset a scannable tag, tracks who has what in real time, and sends renewal alerts before you overpay for unused seats.

How much does trackme cost?

trackme is $120 per year, flat, with everything included: no per-seat pricing, no tiers, and no sales call required. That covers hosting, backups, and updates for your whole workspace.

Do I need to talk to sales to get started?

No. You can create your own workspace, pick a subdomain, and start adding assets in under a minute, with no demo or sales call required.

Can I import my existing asset spreadsheet?

Yes. trackme supports bulk CSV import, so you can bring in your existing spreadsheet of assets, categories, and locations rather than re-entering everything by hand.

Does trackme track software licenses and seats, not just hardware?

Yes. You can tie each software license to an application, assign seats to specific people or devices, and get alerts before a license renews or before you are paying for seats nobody is using.

Can I print asset tags with trackme?

Yes. trackme includes a drag-and-drop tag editor for QR or barcode tags, so you control exactly what appears on the label, including logo placement.

How does equipment checkout and loan tracking work?

You can check equipment out to a person or a location, set a due date, and see the full history of who has had a given asset, which is useful for loaner laptops, projectors, or shared equipment.

Is my company's data isolated from other companies using trackme?

Yes. Every company gets its own private workspace on its own subdomain, with role-based access for admins, managers, and staff, so your data never mixes with anyone else's.

Can I export my data out of trackme?

Yes. You can build reports and export CSVs across assets, licenses, and loans at any time. The data is yours.
